I didn’t actually get tagged with the Fours meme, but I had it mailed to me. Pretty much every feed I’ve subscribed to has included it as well. And on a Friday after a company party when you’re waiting on the green light to promote some code fixes, you’re inclined to say its the same thing.
Four jobs I’ve had
- Wiring light fixtures for display in a lighting store
- Digitizing Dufferin County maps for a GIS department on a 386 Hyundai “workstation” with a 4X6 rollup tablet
- Managing the business, computer and current event sections at an independant book store. I place the first order for WIRED magazine there; the second issue they’d released
- Slinging coffee for the Second Cup by University of Waterloo.
Four movies I can watch over and over
- Star Wars
- Aliens
- And Now for Something Completely Different
- Dodgeball, heaven help me … although the attraction wore off a bit when everyone was quoting the stinking thing while actually playing dodgeball
Four places I’ve lived
Four TV shows I love to watch
- Kids in the Hall, who’re apparently doing a reunion tour
- MythBusters
- Design on a Dime
- Family Guy, although less now than I used to
Four places I’ve been on vacation
- Paris and the south of France
- London
- The Dominican Republic
- St John’s, Newfoundland
Four of my favorite dishes
- Roasted fig and vegetable pita with fries and jalepeno mayonaise from Cafe Maroc in Toronto
- Black bean wrap with tempeh from Fresh
- Fresh, fire-roasted olives, goats gouda and baguette on Saturdays, all fresh from St Lawrence Market
- my wife’s fantastic I-can’t-believe-its-not-veal-parmesan.
Four sites I visit daily – I’m pulling this from my OPML
- BoingBoing
- O’Reilly Network Developer’s Hub
- Gizmodo
- SkimCSS, a very recent addition.
Four places I’d rather be right now
- Playa del Carman, Mexico, where I passed the most relaxing four days of my life, drinking $10 peso beer, eating at Cafe Press and 100% Natural, and chilling at the hostel around the corner from the beach
- Byron Bay, I’ve never been, but my wife talks it up a lot
- Brighton, England
- Home, on the couch, reading.
